About EHIM

Who is EHIM?

We are an organization of houses of worship in East Hartford, Connecticut, dedicated to promoting the dignity and well-being of everyone in town.

We have three programs:

  • Our Human Needs program helps people get the help they need to live with dignity.
  • Our Friendship Center soup kitchen provides meals.
  • Our New Beginnings program provides appliances and other necessities for people making the big jump from homelessness to a home of their own.

Are You Hungry?

If you're hungry, come to the Friendship Center Soup Kitchen at St. John Episcopal Church.  We serve an evening meal at 5pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and an afternoon meal at 2pm Sundays.

St. John is located at 12 Rector Street. The church is near the Dunkin Donuts shop at 1084 Main Street in the middle of East Hartford's business district. Call Pam, the Friendship Center coordinator, at 528-5605.

Do you need help?

East Hartford Interfaith Ministries can help if you need it.

  • Are you out of heating oil?
  • Do you need some money to pay part of your rent?
  • Do you need gas money to get to a job interview?
  • Do you need help getting the help you need?

If so, please don't hesitate to call Beth Harlow, our Human Needs Services Coordinator at 860-289-4919.  Helping you is why we're here, but we can't help unless you ask!

There are other places to get help, too.
